I’m a mom, a former All-American steeplechaser at James Madison University, and a current marathoner-ish. I say this reluctantly because I love 5ks, but the marathon is growing on me.
I started blogging in 2011 as a training diary when I decided to train for my first “real” marathon. I had run a few marathons previously, either with friends or with my sister, and with minimal training (or none). If you want to creep on my marathon training, my old blog is here (some of the posts were written by my husband Pete because we trained together). I write about running, food, and my life as a mom/ wife/ athlete/ coach.
My second little girl was born in July 2015, so I’ll also be writing about the fun sleep-deprived process of getting back into shape after pregnancy. I’m currently training for the half marathon and marathon as well as some shorter races. My goal races for 2017 are tentatively the Shamrock Half Marathon, BAA 5k, the Freihofer’s Run for Women 5k, Indy Women’s Half Marathon, and the Hartford Marathon.
I love coaching other runners and helping them reach their goals, which is why I started my online coaching business, Piece of Cake Running. I also coach runners locally in the Albany, NY area.
I currently run for the Willow Street Athletic Club, a group of seriously badass women runners. I’m also an ambassador for Shower Pill and run for rabbit on the rabbitElite team. I’m always looking to try new things, and love reviewing new products.
